Yeah, so many thoughts of what I would do to one hahaha. I am just not sure if I could ever commit to V8 life. Twice the heads, twice the headaches is my motto.

May I ask what you told the officer? Did you get a ticket? Seems kind of strange that he would pull you over for something so stupid. I bet he just wanted to see the car better hahaha.

I just spent 30 minutes reading through your whole thread because you posted in a different old merc thread. Now I feel like selling my old wheels and buying an old merc. This thing is amazing!

Well, last night, I decided to pull the 280SE out for a spin, got pulled over immediately at a gas station... for being too low [I didnt think my car was low enough!] Anyways, so the wife and I went into DC today and took some photos around Georgetown, here they are:

Please excuse that the car is dirty the paint on the hub caps is original paint.

Yeah, its not OEM, the lady mixed it wrong, although I am actually glad she did, as i love this color over what was stock [hellgrau]. I still have the paint with the code, its over at my parents house, I may be back there this weekend so I'll grab the code for you.

Glad you went with the spring conversion, sounds like the band-aids weren't really going to solve anything.

    Cool shots too!
Yeah, I tried driving it down the street with no exhaust at all, damn thing was way to loud for me to even wanna hit the gas threw the rear back exhaust on and cleaned up and rewelded the straight pipes from deleting the center resonator and tucked the exhaust up higher. Had to reweld and put back together my center hanger from it being ripped in half from my garage floor.

hammered it flat to give me a bit more clearance.

Went ahead and cut more on the springs all around the car:

I cut a total of 2.75" in the fronts, and I think I ended up cutting almost 3 coils in the rear? Im not too sure as i ended up cutting the rear springs like 4 times. The new center compensating spring on the differential has 1.5 coils cut off to reduce the positive camber. Will have to snap some better photos this weekend of the new low.

yesterday I was able to remove the center resonator from the car, as this thing is causing the most of the scraping,
