skid plate maybe saved me a few times, but also was worthless many times - after a few hits, starts getting pushed into oil pan.. then one time - boom oil pan explodes. this was w the 318is in SF - unavoidable.. I have most of the city memorized now though lol.

That looks legit. I remember the X-Brace on my old E36 saved my oilpan a few times.

I'm going to have to disagree, my race skids has saved me litterally thousands of dollars, and it's the weakest one. Doesnt even have a bend.

this is fact!

if you do hit somthing that will be pushing your skid threw the oil pan then you are in a non slammed friendly place (get jeep for daily)

does anyone know where to get a good skid plate for the e30? i dont wanna crack my oil plan. lol I've been looking around and they all seem to be the same just sold by different people. all around the same price.

Skid plate is a waste of time. It gives you less ground clearance and usually when you hit anything it will bend, hit your pan, which cracks it.

Get on r3vlimited.com if you aren't already. IMO best e30 forum out there. Very active too and a big classified so you can burn hours looking at parts haha

hahah ya i just got one a couple of days ago! my user name is "SOURDerek", if you wanna find me. i already order the cup holders that someone makes on that forum i was looking at the lukebox's but i think i might just try and build my own.
