  • 325i questions

Please move this, if I posted in the wrong section. But hi, I'm new here after looking around for maybe a year. But anyway, on the top of the mountain where I live, there is a 1987? BMW 325i that was parked in an empty lot maybe a year and a half ago. I've went up to visit the car and look at it many times. I know it is a very very big car in the stance community and I am 14 and have been looking at cars to work with until I'm 16 and then drive it. Anyway, the 325i that I'm looking at has had a rough past. Around 240,000 miles, leather is gonna need to be redone. Tranny might be removed, I can find out with another trip up the mountain. Only reason I'm saying that is because the center console of the dash appears to be removed. As for the body. There is a few small patches of rust, 2-3. With some rust under the quarterpanels right around the wheel arches. Window seals will need to be replaced with I can only imagine most of the engine seals. The paint will need to be replaced in a few areas, maybe even a whole repaint. My question is, my uncle knows a big BMW guy that can hook me up quick and cheap, but I have a way more passion for the car I grew up staring at every time I went over the mountian. I'm just wondering, is it worth it to put all the passion and time, that I DO have and restore the 240k mile car that I love, or is it just a waste? I have limited information, limited money (birthday, Christmas, when I get a job) so what would be a better choice? What would be the risk of getting the old worn one?
