Well that's the plan. So you had better get a plaque or something ready. Jussayin'.
So I'm back on campus now and it's kinda difficult to do any serious work to the car. However, last weekend I did drive it home to replace the gas tank as the seam had been leaking for some time and I never did anything about it. While I was at it I also redid my fuel pump wiring... because I'm anal and always have to put things back together better than before.
Then a couple days ago I wrapped my turbo manifold and downpipe (at least, the part that doesn't rest on the ground). When driving on the highway at like 3,500 rpm, the car starts to overheat and I have to flip the heat on or slow down. It was running a bit lean at that rpm so I both wrapped the stuff and added more fuel.
I do not like how it looks at all. I like the look of bare tubes better but whatever. It needed done as the one tube almost touches the radiator. And I DON'T want to drive with the heat on all the way to H2Oi.
It was funny doing this in the parking lot. I had the entire front end off the car and sitting on the roof rack. Literally every person was like, "Oh, what broke on the ricer now?"
That was annoying.
It's not a ricer. I'm not a ricer. Some Americans, I'll tell ya.
But no, some people were really nice and it was a good conversation starter.
Because as much as I'm all for stupid things like scraping doing a 172mph run.
If the front of your car hits the ground at ~170mph, I see that ending badly for you and your car, and you need to stay safe <3
But, Stuart, sparks!
Actually, I hadn't wanted to, but the shortest high speed tire I can find is 22 inches tall so that would indeed raise the car 1/2 an inch which would put the oil pan 1 1/2" from the ground. They would also raise the top speed to 180mph. I doubt it could hit at that height. The track is also an old military airport so it's nice and smooth.
