MK2: Project "Hooptie"
Pretty much have done all I wanted to do to my W124 for now so I decided I needed a new project. I searched craigslist high and low for a cheap W123 but stumbled upon a red mk2, it was pictured rocking some porsche 7 slots which I think are ugly as hell, so we struck a deal if I brought my own wheels he would take $700 off his asking price. So test drove it loved the crap out of it, couldn't stop smiling, so I bought it for $700, tax return payed for the whole thing! The car is a 91 Jetta GL base with a 1.8L and a manual gearbox, car has currently 165k on the clock, already lowered on h&r springs and koni shocks, had a "trendy" rusted hood with hood pins that I quickly removed and picked up a new hood for free off of craigslist.
Future plans:
Adapters
Wheels
Flares (should be here next week)
Raceland coilovers
Re-do the headliner
Heres how it looked when I went to pick it up...
Bought some crap ass steelies for $100 bucks to get her home, turned out the tires on them were some crap as well and I legit drove 55 down I-95 for the first time in my life. Finally had some time last night to detail the car and heres how it turned out. Iphone ftw!
Here are the wheel options I have lying around in my storage room...
Vette Salad Shooters (will be painted a creme color soon)
Reverse Mounted Enkei's 15x7/8.5 Negative offsets
And lastly these Gotti J55A's Ive been building 16x9/10.5 or 16x9 square set fully polished.
