Here we go again, cleaned the car and took out trash, this is how it ended up:

I think the 18's fit just nicely, sometimes they look a bit small to my eye, can't really understand how. Seems like most of the "low" e34 guys roll 16's and 17's, though they do come a bit closer to the ground. I have this hunch that I need to get a good 1-2 cm's lower on the front (really don't know how - there's only bump stops left and I cut those to a 1cm height). Maybe I need to build those top mounts a bit higher. Also noticed that this setup is 5cm's off the ground, 2cm's shave would bring it to another level - i'm missing all the scraping after the change from 16" to 18".

M20B20, so 520i. I can't blame you, this one is slower than anything at its class. When I see guys with "Low'N'Slow" -stickers, I tend to laugh 'til I cry. And the cry part is because of this car.

I really don't like colored wheels, but the car looks good for some reason.

Looks like the old walrus is on its last waves:

PS. regretting that hawaii-plate after the shoot, looks absolutely stupid.

Throw another fender on there for now and worry about paint later. This happened to my bud twice...

Hello there, it's been a long time and finally getting something done. I lost all my motivation and inspiration, when I couldn't hit the deadline and had to admit, that my car won't be at the JKLcruising.

About month later started to work on front right brake, it was jamming badly and the disc was heating like hell. Took the brake calipers... umm, piston (?) off and found out some corrosion on the side of it. Had to buy another one from my friends gutted 518i and now works like a charm. Unfortunately, theres like thousand other things that keeps me from enjoying this shit.

So, I'm trying to sell it soon and before that - fix some minor problems, so next owner wouldn't bring it back. Seems like i'm getting a E39 528i from germany, since it's easy and reasonable, after all i'm just a student. Don't like the idea of getting a newer one, i'm more into older cars, for the feel and excitement.

But hey, for the long and lousy text - more pics.

He will most probably have orange peel, most paint comes out like that even when painted all professionally.

The single stage paint is def a good option!

Using the rattle cans isnt that bad. I used it for my rear bumper and came out perfect. Had a spray can made of my color and bought a can of 2 stage urethane clear. Worked like a charm. No buff needed. Colors matched perfect. Definitely try and get the use of a paintbooth though.

OP the other option is to get a single stage paint, a glossy color that needs no clear. It can save you a little cash. If you get a little orange peel, wet sanding and a polish will fix that.

From my experience with rattle can painting the problem is the finish. If you use 2K paint (base coat, then clear with hardener) the clear is the obviously the last step of painting. Applying paint with a compressor and spray gun will give you a much more homogen surface and even if the colors dont match a 100% (which will prob be the case, since the paint on your car is 450000km old) it will look way more professional! Dont forget to buff properly, and maybe wetsand, after the paint has completely dried. Oh and post pics of work

probably something to do with the wheel falling off.

I've seen this car around on another forum before. I liked it with the RAs and the white bonnet. Should have just spaced the rear a little. The blue is too try hard IMO.

Also, surely you must have messed it up more with the wheel 'issue'. Not sure if I would feel comfortable driving a car after thats happened till its been looked over.

but in a positive note, there is quite a bit of info on painting with rattle cans and getting good results if you search around
