thanks for all the love <3
possibly working on a skid plate tomorrow since on the volvos the oil pan is above the steering rack and sub frame which is cool because i will never blow up my oil pan but......one raised man hole cover and the steering rack and subframe are toast
found a metal box down in the canyon gonna cut that up and weld it and maybe make that work

The exterior looks really good for its age. Nothing like getting a first car that pisses your mom off, lol. I remember the first mod I did to my brand new car and listened to my mom bitch about it for months.

volvo wagon....but with turbo
its finally time to introduce my self and stop lurking. my name is max im 17 and live in oregon. i have been looking forever to find a volvo 240 wagon and a couple weeks ago i found onei got it not running for 560$
an 83 volvo turbo 240 wagon. its a 4 speed with an electric 5th speed overdrive. oh and my mom hates it lulz
its on the original volvo turbo rims painted black.
finally got it towed to my house and it was pretty funny because the previous owner had already cut the springs so it was already pretty low and watching the tow truck driver getting it of the truck was comical
first day home
so i got it home and started to do a little clean up on the inside. ya know some vacuuming, wiping stuff down, cleaning windows, then i put the seat up and h-o-l-y shit it was gnarly
it doesnt look that bad but it was disgusting most of it was brown sludge-goo-gunk whoknowswhat. 45 minuets with some steel wool, hot water and soap, and goo gone and i got it looking moderately clean. didnt take a picture.
so that night we popped the hood and started looking. and some failed starts and poking around we found the out the fuel pressure regulator was leaking really really really bad. so we yanked that p.o.s and put swapped it with one from an Audi that was in the junkyard and it stopped leaking but still wouldnt idle
fuel pressure regulator
so the next day we got back at it and did some seafoam and throttle body cleaner and it started to idle but it was idling at really high rpms around 3.5 or 4. did some more looking around and found some vacuum lines werent hooked up and the icv(idle control valve) wasnt hooked up to anything and was on backwards lulz
got those hooked back up and now it idles like a champ. (sorry for lack of pics of this stage/process. it wasnt anything exciting mostly just looking around at stuff.)
then today i decided to do a little painting of the lip. i painted the a white bar along the bottom
masked up
all done
without the lip
with the painted lip back on
i think it looks pretty sweet
after the lip was finished i put on some stickers for added style points
random clearance shot
shot from my window
sooo plans for the future include
-more interior cleaning/repair
-some exterior goodies(paint and other fun stuff)
-upgraded suspension(not sure what route to take yet)
-new wheel paint: plan is a surprise
-and eventually and slowly building up the engine
thats all for meowopen to suggestions will update when i have something to update
p.s. thanks to everyone who helped me getting it runningTags: None
