In the world of mishaps and plates being hurdled at the wall, a small beam of light can be found in the most unexpected places.

After a shitty start to my day and monumentous amounts of cock and balls at work. A simple phone call changed my day. USAA to tell me that my car is being towed to a destination of my choice completely covered by "Total Car Care". If that wasnt enough to get the dick hard, my dad calls me and tells me he has great news, a friend of a friend who works at import plus called him and told him that they found a D16y8 (motor, trans, harness, axles, ecu, etc.) and they only want $650 for it since ive been so patient...

SCRAPPY IS GETTING SOME VTEC. it also comes with a DC header, chipped ECU, stage 2 cams. Scrappy shall scrape once more

sorry to hear about your popped motor bro.

i cant see any of the pics of your car in this thread cause my work blocks photobucket. however i read that your at 20 inches. im guessing thats fender to ground in the front?

im currently in the upper 21 inch range. but i want to get that extra inch! you still runnin ebay coilover sleeves? i got them in the back on my sedan and the wagovan springs up front. im debating whether to cut half a coil up front or swap in coilover sleeves instead.

    what you think?

Well Scrappy (the car) decided to take a shit on me.

With 5 miles til Wilmington, I noticed that the gas pedal felt a little off, and something didnt seem right, but I kept pushing forward. Speed limit changed from 70 to 55, started backing off then BOOM....

Car cuts off, pulled off to the side of the road. I figured it was my fuel pump because of the gas pedal. Went ahead and tried to jump start just to try and get it started. No luck. After 2 hours of waiting for the tow truck to come, the guy finally shows up... hope out of the truck and just starts laughing... "I cant tow it, Its too fucking low." He gets smart and push the car up on a piece of wood. Success!

We get the to repair center and I was the only one with teeth, but im not one to judge. Mechaince comes out and pushes the car inside. Pulls the valve cover off and tells me I snapped the timing belt, bent my valves, and from the looks of it thats not all.

So today they pulled the motor, I bent the rod in clyinder 1. Gave me a quote for a total rebuild... $2500... FUCK YOU SCRAPPY.

I cant really be mad, shit happens and I was planning on rebuilding the motor over the summer when I had time. A new motor will going in a long with a few other things.

im going to try and stay with a D-series.

But once again FUCK YOU SCRAPPY

    new year bump...

Holiday break was a nice turning point, but I didnt get as much done as I wanted. Just cleaning it up a bit more. ordered more parts, parents got me a few things, my girlfriend's dad fixed my windows, put some new parts on, changed some bushings.

I'm still debating on coilover. I'm favoring D2 coilover, but If they dont go nut dragging low its going to be a waste. FF type1's go low but quality isn't all there. And I found out on break that cylinder 1 has the bad ring. The rebuild will be taking place this summer, while the motor is out, the car is get trailered to Wilson, where the tuck is going to happen along with a respray.

I still need to find some OEM floor mats and some window visors. and order more parts. I feel like the more I ride the car or look at the more shit I see that needs to be done.

I honestly have no idea how to feel the scratches. the smooth part shouldnt be a problem but what about the textured part any ideas

he didn't seem to care at all. just did his job and went on his way. but my girlfriend went the apartment office the next morning to let them know and apparently 7 other cars got broken into in the same complex. 15 total in the surrounds complexes. and my girlfriend lives in a 1/4 mile from UNCW so the apartments aren't shafty

    Tis the Season I guess.

I am not sure. I dont see why it would be but i guess its like have papers in your car and getting searched, thats possession of paraphernalia. but my philosophy on life is, "Don't give them a reason"
