  • Hi guys! Newcomer here!

Hi all! I'm new around here so I thought I would post a thread introducing myself and explaining a few things

I'm currently living in the UK (hope to move out the the US at some point) and turn 17 on the 11th of next month (July)! Already have a first car (Toyota Aygo) and have plans to start driving lessons as soon as I can! Hopefully I should pass fast as I already have some driving experience. I've driven a couple of Mercedes-Benz Automatics, one on Brooklands Track, UK and one in the off-road section of Mercedes-Benz World, Brooklands, UK. I have also driven a Mazda MX-5 Manual in the training lot of Thruxton Circuit, UK and then went onto drive a Porsche Cayman around the track (also manual). Stall all of 3 times so I'm pretty happy and confident about driving a manual!

The family cars are my Dads company car, A 2012 Toyota Avensis and my Mums car (sort of) A 53 plate BMW X5 E53 4.6is. Before that we owned a 2007 BMW 320d E90 Sport which was a very nice car and lasted us nearly 4 years before we were forced to sell due to needing a bigger car (hence the X5) as we own a caravan now and the 3 series was not bought in the knowledge that we were going to buy a caravan.

I hope to get a BMW Apprenticeship which I had a week of work experience a few weeks ago... Awaiting a phone call telling me whether I got it or not.... Fingers crossed!

If I get the apprenticeship I will start saving to get an E30 318i Lux (Touring) before I'm 20.. Insurance will be around £1000 a year so not bad... Well at least until I start modifying it... :/

As I say my current car is a Toyota Aygo, bought for £4,400 with a badly dented driver side rear door and a blown exhaust box... On the other hand it only had 8,000 miles on the clock as it was an elderly gentleman's car which was only used to go back and forth to the shops since it was bought from new in 2009. Found a drivers side rear door in the right colour for only £70 so bought that and picked it up on the same day as my Dad picked up the car (only 20mins away from the cars location in London). Fitted that a few weekends ago and my Mum has been using the car as her daily for the meantime.

Heres some pictures of the cars I've spoken about:

Thanks for reading and I hope you like my little car lol!

p.s If you have an E30 Touring please posts your pictures I need some inspiration for mine !
Slowly modifying a VW Bora to my taste...
