  • A state of stance - 2008 VW golf TSI

    Hi guys.
Here is a quick recap of my build. From new to date.

Bought it brand new in Feb.2008, and it looked like this:

    105km/65miles on the clock

After 4 days, I swapped the suspension for a custom KW V2 white edition.

Gutted, still not low enough for my needs..

Tried the 8x19" RS6 Plus wheels from my Audi, and they rubbed like a mofo with ET30

    But they did look good.
    Also removed the rear wiper.

For those of you that didn't see it. I also added the GTI sideskirts and rear bumper.

Coilover set #2 mounted. About 15threads left without helpers.
This time i went for FK Highsports.

    Black emblem and candywhite stripe.

    Honeycomb ftw

Satin black mirrors. (waiting for black indicators)

    Yellow HID : eek :

    USA-Look indicators and Yellow HIDs.

    3000k d2s bulbs

    Finally de-chromed.

Candywhite engine cover with gunshow theme.

Here is my heatshield. Made from two aluminium plates, cut and bent to shape.
    Added rubber strips for protection.

Made a bracket, and bolted it to the stock mounting plate.

Drilled a hole for the oil return pipe, and painted the 3" pipe flat black

    K&N filter.

Added 70W yellow H7 bulbs to the highbeams, for that yellow glare.

At this stage, it was May 2008. 3 months after i recieved the car.

Finally, after months of waiting.. The wheels!

The wheels are back from the painter.
Candywhite lip with BMP center. True to the VW color scheme.

Pic of a rear wheel. 9.5x18

    Rogue status parcel shelf.

    Added pinstriping to the wheels

    Before:

    Shaved sidewalls

    US R32 rear lights

    Chasing some ass

    Needs more lowering

    RS inside.

Lamin-x with horrible fitment. Have to order a new set.

    Before:

    After:

    GTI Edition30 steeringwheel

Also did a trackday in the golf, and got hooked.
I'll be sorting out the rear suspension soon. Rear anti-rollbar and some endlinks.

We are now at the end of 2008 season, and the car was featured in a national newspaper here. Well satisfied..

Next post we have the 2009 season.

Satin black lip, Flat black clear coat over candywhite pinstripe.
      Candywhite gloss centers.

Also had the hood notch filled and painted entire front end. Due to stonechips.
Then I modified the GTI grille, and removed the VW emblem

Went to Wörthersee. Great trip, except for the fines.

Are you sponsored by Rogue Status?

I like the car, it follows a really nice black and white theme. Whoever paints your wheels does an awesome job, and I love all the looks you've done. I don't, however, care for the design of the wheels that much.

Not sponsored, no. Just a big fan.

I do all the work on my car by myself. A proper DIY freak.
I work in IT, btw. Oh and this is my company car. The daily driver.

I am kinda sick of the wheels now. But Blitz Type 3 in 9 and 10x18" with the correct offset don't grow on trees.. So I'm still looking.
