  • FS: 1995 BMW 740iL black/black on FK coilovers

This car is my daily driver and has never let me down. It has never failed to start and has been perfectly reliable in every aspect. The engine was replaced with a used one about a year ago after a spark plug broke off inside one of the cylinders, ruining the cylinder wall and all four valves on that cylinder. The new engine was completely re-sealed before going in, and was compression tested to rule out the Nikasil issue which plagued certain pre-1996 BMW V8s. Engines effected by this issue usually failed around 60,000 miles due to erosion of the cylinder walls caused by the high sulfur content in American gasoline. Compression is perfect (180-190 PSI) on all cylinders. Both the car and the new engine have been in California since new. Contrary to the "maintenance nightmare" stories usually perpetuated by people who have never owned one of these cars, maintenance costs are not outrageous at all. Yes, it does cost a bit more than normal, for example, the engine requires 8 quarts of oil, and the stock brake rotors are gigantic so they are more expensive. This car has been well-maintained throughout its life, and you can really feel that when driving it. All of the electronics are fully operational and there are no weird glitches or places you have to smack the dashboard to get something to work. The car is located in Temecula, CA and is available for viewing. Send me a PM to make arrangements.

-Three very small dings, one on each front door, one on the back of the trunklid, no paint damage anywhere
-Right rear panel has a shallow dent and scratch (see photo)
-Both front rocker panels are dented on the bottom

As cliche' as it sounds you really must see this car in person to fully appreciate. Car is crazy low and everything about it just flows. Super Low/Wide. GLWS bud.

Absolutely. To be honest though I would rase it an inch if you are gonna drive across the country. You never know what you'll run into.

Also, if this is srs bsns, I can mount some newer tires on it for the long drive.
