yes we should.

Ollie and myself and trying to work on getting something set up for the end of August. Something similar to the Stance of the Union meet in texas but here in the tri-state area.

Once we finalize a date and location we'll have to flood other forums including this one to spread the word.

If you guys need ANY help, let me know!! I could probably get a considerable amount of upstate NY people to come. I'll post it up on www.shift518.com once everything is finalized.

Seriously though, I've set up meets before and would be glad to help, let me know.

I am all for it. I just don't know that part of the area very well. Maybe we can get some help from local PA members to chime in and help us find a location. As for the date, lets try to make it on a Sunday cause i know alot of people working on saturdays.

kramerbuccs24
04-21-2010, 06:11 PM
Yeah I don't know of any places to meet in NJ or PA either.

Sunday is fine for me, as long as we nail down a date a month or two in advance I can take off any day.

We could do it at the York Fair (same place VAG fair is held). Its right off the highways so there would be no confusing on how to get there. Its a big place and plenty of parking. Im not sure on prices to "rent out" the parking lot, maybe there isnt any at all. I could find out if that would be a option.

Another place could be possibly somewhere around Penn State?

Penn State would work, except that its far from EVERYTHING hahaha. Pick something thats not in the middle of PA.

The York Fair is around southern PA, about an hour from Baltimore. 4 hours from New York city.

sounds like a good place but maybe we should start at a location where we dont have to pay.

That's 5 hrs from me, not too bad. I can live with that as long as the location is sweet!!

We need to try and finalize a spot soon this way everything else can happen. I have tents, a food vendor, and a DJ ready but we need a spot to begin the process of spreading the news.

And yes, preferably a place where we dont pay. I say we label it as a BBG/Stance of the Tri-State meet.

kramerbuccs24
04-23-2010, 12:09 AM
I'm no use in picking a spot because the only part of PA I know is I-81 and the only parts of NJ I know are the Parkway, the Turnpike and Englishtown (Waterfest) lol.

PA/NJ guys need to step up!!!!!!!! :D

I know another place, actually two. Both are parks. One has a about 50 or so parking spots, grills to cook on, and a pavilion along with other park things lol. The other one has 150-200 maybe even more parking spots. Its by a lake.

kramerbuccs24
04-23-2010, 11:27 PM
What's the deal with the 150-200 spot with the lake? Sounds enticing. Googlemap me to that shit, hopefully it's not by Pittsburgh lol.

Thats all parking. Theres multiple picnic areas and that building in the middle is a snack bar/bathrooms. If I can remember right, theres also a playground and a beach like area.

The lake is a definite dope spot. Plenty of parking, place to chill and grill. I think we may have found a spot!

Got a email from them back.

Hello Daniel,

After speaking with the Park Manager, William Rosevear, if you would like to reserve a pavilion for your meet, which would be fine. Remember that all rules and regulations would have to be followed. The cars must all be parked in the parking lot, and your music would have to be contained with in your pavilion area (not to disturb other park visitors). You could
Put signs out as long as they are not put on a park sign or a permit sign. Your signs have to be free standing and then removed when leaving for the day.

If you would have any further questions, please contact us again. Have a great day!

Thank you,
Colleen

So we got a place! Next step is to set a date. Any suggestions?

simple g50

I'm going to just go ahead and throw this date out there. For all the meets i'll be attending this date will not conflict with any other events. Also its a Sunday,

August 15........

What do you guys think?

Aug 1 is just fine for me.

Everyone who reads this thread and wants to attend, post up if Aug 1 works for you!!

This is a 5 hr drive for me but it'll be worth it if the spot and turnout is great!

I may be going up to the spot this weekend with the girlfriend so I can take some pics or the area. Parking is in the grass (I think), not sure if some of you care about that or not.

Its basically a chill, hang out type place by a lake.

This needs to be in a more obvious place.. But where?

And once we figure out where/when this is gunna happen, we are going to need to FLOOD forums and such with this. I would say anywhere but ***** Tech (Honda Tech) and CTVTEC because well its mostly a bunch of ****** ricers.

Once we get everything "nailed down," we can put it in out signatures and in the "events" forum, plus on 300 other forums.

What I *think* we need:

-100% finalize date
-300,000% finalize location
-Figure out if we'll be grilling there, buying food and bringing it there, etc. etc.
-Make some kind of a "flyer" .jpeg that we could throw in the OP of any forum we throw it on, just with all of the info on it and maybe pics of some of our cars, the meet spot, and/or any prior meets amongst you guys (I'm "new" so I dunno if something like this happened last year or what)

Sound about right?

They said we can have it there, just waiting for the date so I can email her back to reserve a pavilion and let the park rangers know that we are there.

As for food, how about bring your own? Kinda relying on people here to step up and bring some food and not just mootch off others. Im down to bring some things aswell.

I can work on the flyer just to throw out some ideas too.
