Shipping from US to CAN + Universal Parts on Air Management Kits

I'm looking for some advices on piecing a kit together and I want to approach it in a cost effective manner.

What are the parts in a number of air management kits that are considered "universal"?

I understand the viair compressors and air tanks are pretty much universal (except the port sizes). What else?

In my situation I'm looking to save on shipping fees (especially customs) from US to Canada. Can I buy this kit (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/AccuAir-eLeve...558140&vxp=mtr) then purchase the air tank and compressors locally? Both of these I believe are the heaviest in every kit.

Are there any drawbacks? Anything else I should be considering?
