  • Lens repair

After shooting my last auto event, I realized my Nikon D80's kit lens (18-135mm 3.5-5.6) auto focus is no longer functioning. It makes squeaky noises and just loops from unfocused to focused and starts over again. A quick google tells me that this is sometimes common with this model lens.

Does anyone know if I can ship it back to Nikon and have it repaired? I've never had to deal with lens repair before.

Is it worth it on such a cheap lens? You can probably pick one up for the price they are going to charge?

      Warrenty?

That's what I'm hoping. I'm the original owner of it and iirc Nikkor lenses had a few years of warranty on them. So I guess I'll give them a call and see what they say.
