So, some of you guys liked my dad's compact when I posted some pics a few months ago, so I figured why not make a build thread for it.
He bought it like this in September 2007:
Here's a soundfile of how it sounded with the Eisenmann:
Then in May 2009 some changes were made:
Just a month later and he sold the Rondell 72s.
The new wheels that came were OEM Styling 32 in 8x18 ET20 and 9x18 ET22.
Originally, he mounted 215/35 and 225/35 on them.
Then he went to the TÜV to get this setup approved, but there were some problems with the TÜV inspector claiming that the rear wheels having ~10mm more in diameter would mess up the ABS and something, so he wouldn't approve it. With 215/35 all around it was approved fine, but my dad raised the car up 1cm because the splitters were scraping on the parking lot of his work and he didn't want that.
That's it for now.
What's to come is still unkown, he wants to fix up the interior next year, remove the silver bits one of the previous owners installed, but apart from that there are no plans yet to change anything.
I hope I can convince him to go lower.
He bought it like this in September 2007:
- 8x17 ET35 Rondell 72
- 225/45 tires
- old KW V1 (quite old, it was one of the old normal steel ones... KWs had been INOX for a few years then, so this was most likely already over 5 years or so old)
- Eisenmann SS exhaust
- Schnitzer strut brace
Here's a soundfile of how it sounded with the Eisenmann:
Then in May 2009 some changes were made:
- swapped out the 225/45s for 215/40 tires
- 15mm spacers in the rear
- swapped out the worn KW V1 for cheap TA Technix coils
- swapped out the Eisenmann SS exhaust for an AC Schnitzer exhaust
- swapped out the white turns for grey turns
- swapped out the yellow fogs for normal ones
