  • tyres? where do you get yours, and do you have a preferred make?

so my last firestone tyre is coming to the end of its life. i swear that thing is 20 years old now. ):
I think my rear wheels need a decent replacement, fronts had some new nankang ones fitted a while back but they're just not pretty. all covered in writing and generally cluttery.

so what tyres do you guys prefer? and do you have any reccomendations for new ones for my rears?
whitewalls would be heaven, but alas I am a poor person and would probably settle for uncluttered blackwalls or raised white writing.

oh, theyre 155/80r14s on the front.

I always get a top brand make and go for part worn tyres 205/45/16 from my local tyrer fitter for around £25 notes as new they will set me back £130 each!!! i can honestly say ive never had a problem with my part worns! as for white walls you can get a white wall strip that sticks to black tyres if your on a buget, not sure were you get them tho?Avon tyres aint to sad for tyres!

      Camskill

I'm really feeling Falkens at the moment, but I love Contis. Currently on Nankangs for the price / stretch but I don't rate them in the slightest.

ah contis were on offer a few weeks ago but i didn't need them then. i'm a terrible bargain snatcher. part worns i have to be pretty lucky to get a hold of - most places barely stock my size brand new, let alone having people bringing them in! though i'd like some more vintage firestones.
as for whitewall inserts, i've heard of all kinds of problems - apparently they flap in the wind and you have to break the bead to get them on?

camskill.. hmm. i'll check them out.

All my wheels are wrapped in Toyo Proxes T1Rs. Get them from a local fitter for the same price as Camskill sell them.

Yeah know what you are saying about whitewall inserts theres a VW bettle rnd the corner from me with some rather odd looking negative camber and his white inserts have all come loose.

they just end up looking tacky ):
part of the reason the mog isnt lowered yet is because if i'm gonna do it, i'm gonna do it right.

camskill seems quite cheap for me. although i run yoko's on the mini which i got from a specialist, although got t1r's off of my local tyre supplier for a very similar price to camskill
