OK my buddy as a 98 Legacy GT 2.5

We have Tracked down a Problem to either the Water Pump or the Head Gaskets or both

cause at idle it starts to over heat but driving it goes down and then back off to about half to 3/4 of the gauge.

anyone kno anything about that and how easy / Hard is it to rip off the EJ25 head ?

How many miles? if over 150k its probably the head gaskets. Common flaw. its pretty easy to change the HG's. Make sure to check for head straightness and dye check for cracks. give yourself a couple days just to be sure to get it right. If twin cam. invest in a set of cam gear locks and be sure that timimg is dead on. If in doubt, double, triple check.

I just did the heads on an EJ25 its actually really not that hard at all. Pulling the motor is the easiest way and subie motors pull easy. If youre really serious about taking this on lemme know I can literally answer whatever questions you have.
