Today is the third installment of OJ, Craig and Keller’s trip to Doha. Let the Qatari Party commence — Today’s partygoer is a Maserati GranTurismo.
The GranTurismo is one of Pininfarina’s best, looking quite aggressive without getting too ostentatious about itself. It knows it’s an Italian car, and it’s not afraid to show it. This one came to us in Doha with the mod bug itching. In its short time in our shop, we managed to do a custom cat delete, Snow Performance water-methanol installation, BMC drop-in intake filter and the FMU custom ECU tune to top it all off. Here’s a few glamour shots:
In America, most white cars tend to come with creme or tan interiors. Not in Doha. Bet you weren’t expecting this:
If you didn’t know, this Maserati was an extra in [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlAmXGIbo84"]the elevator scene from The Shining[/ame]. Which pretty much explains it. Either way, back to the story. Craig started taking it apart pretty quickly and got to work on the cat delete:
After that, came the filter and water-meth installations. There aren’t any shots of the GT on the dyno, which is a shame; without cats, not only would this car have looked fantastic on a dyno, it would have sounded even better. Next time, we’ll send the video camera over there, as well.
We’re down to only a couple more installations of the Qatari Party, so look forward to those in the coming weeks! We’ve also got quite a few big things coming up through the woodwork, so it’s looking like it’s going to be a VERY exciting summer for all involved! Stay cool out there today, if you’re stuck in the hellish heat that’s captured most of the nation; keep your windows cracked and watch the hydration of both yourself and your loved ones (pets included!).
