  • Harness the power....

Sorta. So yea tonight is the night I get started on my friends 1JZ harness that I tore apart last week. I just thought I'd let everyone know. Godspeed to myself.

    The pile.

    The power.

    Sample of before.

    Sample of after.

Thanks! And yes I'm re-covering parts of the harness that will be exposed so it looks more pleasing and clean to the eyes. Its something a friend taught me and I ran with it.

However thats only part of what I'm doing.
The process goes something as follows:
Open up the original harness and strip/cut anything that isn't needed/wanted.
Make the exposed wires of the harness pretty, just like I'm doing.
Reroute and test fit around motor.
        Make adjustments if necessary.
        Finalize.
Wrap the rest of the harness.
Solder wires back to ecu and chassis plugs.

Excuse my ignorance, my limited car knowledge applies to pretty much BMWs only.

Sounds frustrating, but I **** any kind of electrical work. I've been trying to figure out the headlight wiring on my dads Porsche for forever.

I wouldn't say tuck, but more like a way cleaner look than factory haha. Definitely not tucked.

Here's a pic of the engine bay.

Update. Pretty much done with the majority that needed the sleeving. Going to start on extending a couple of wires and call it a night.

                          ^Send it to me, haha.

                          Ecu plug before.

Ecu plug after. Unnecessary wires removed and wires bundled into their "groups".

                          Removed wire pile.
