  • Bump stops???

So, my car sits perfect in the rear ........... minus the rubbing over large bumps.

I have heard of using bump stops on the struts, anyone have any input?

go slower over speed bumps or wait, eventually you'll rub away the contact spot lol

You can make your own bumpstops to limit the travel, it's pretty simple. The concept of the bumpstop is basically forcing the strut to stop compressing before it gets to a certain point...
So find out how much travel you do want, and then make a stop for the remaining length.

You can order bump stops from GC for like $10. If they're too tall just cut them in half or something...

The piece on the shaft of the strut. Protects against full compression

The picture shows what it is.

The point is to protect the shock from full compression. So a large highway dip and such. Bottoming out the shock is not good for the shock absorber. It is designed to work in a certain range of motion to operate properly.

Similar to the suspension on a speaker/sub. Don't want the voice coil bottoming out either.
