  • More RS6 Goodies

AJ and Tom have designed and constructed replacement oil and transmission coolers. They’re looking at a relatively large increase over stock capacity, much like our C63 AMG oil cooler. Here’s some shots of their progress on these coolers, followed by a shot of one of the stock RS6 coolers:

Next, as part of the fuel system overhaul, we designed and constructed a fuel surge tank to be mated to two fuel pumps capable of somewhere near 1,500 horsepower (a number that should keep us sleeping well at night, since the RS6 is nowhere near the limit on those pumps). If you don’t know, a surge tank stores fuel to be delivered to the engine in the event that the fuel tank itself is running low (which can occasionally provide iffy gas flow in high stress conditions like hard cornering). The second picture in this group is the future location of the surge tank and pumps, along with the new lines we’ve been running:

Underneath the hood, we’ve also installed a new fuel pressure regulator and new stainless steel hoses for the FMU-fabricated catch can (which we’ve had in the RS6 for a while:

This car is the ultimate definition of a work-in-progress. Things are certainly progressing, but there's still plenty of work to be done.
