  • fk coilovers ride like crap

i have some fk streetline coilovers on my mkiv jetta that im not too happy with. they ride pretty bouncy and i want to reduce the bounciness somehow. they are spun almost all the way down and they have the stock springs on them. im prepared to spend a bit of money to get them feeling better but i dont want to spend $1500+ to buy new coilovers.

what sort of modifications can i make to them or what kind of springs should i get to try and fix this?

You bought $500 coilovers w/o dampening adjustment.
Just be happy that they go pretty damn low after you cut the bumpstops up front. Remove rear perches and front helper springs, and you'll be sitting about 2" from your oilpan to floor.
I wouldn't waste the money on changing them... save for some ultralows if you want low + ride quality.
I daily my streetlines and I don't **** it, but I also don't love it.

i bet those come out of the same factory as raceland and rokkor. i wouldnt go any higher than 450lbs. take a look at the bumpstop with the car's weight on it. the car may be resting on the bumpstop, which is contributing to the bounce. you can try cutting it in half to see if it reduces the problem.

Increasing the spring rate will increase the bounciness, FYI.

i had fks on my mkiv and my rabbit and could not complain

what size tire do you have, during winter mode on factory 15s they are quite bouncy, but with 205/40/18s on it during summer it rode awesome.

but then again i didnt have "streetlines", i had highsports

i have fk streetlines on my mkIV jetta spun all the way down.. its my daily driver. i really don't have much to complain about for getting cheap coilovers, honestly i've felt a lot worse. IMO, rokkors and racelands are worse
