It went down pretty well in truth with 5 Magazine features and 3 Magazine covers but after the summer 09 i decided to sell it fund a mk6 gti, so of it went to Ireland.

The cars new owner got in contact and offered me it back at a crazy price so it would have been rude to turn him down (sadly mrs x5pea didnt see it that way):laugh: and off i went to Ireland with a bag of money

Heres a quick history in pictures...... Enjoy !

    Std Car

Rob cutting up a front arch to make up the rears

    Marked up

    Tack'd in place

Welded up and beaten into shape

    Rear arches Ground back

Metal work finished and ready for skimming

Wheels on and arches cut ready to be pulled

Wings extended to compensate for the movement of the bumper, front arches measured mm perfect and tack'd into place...rears skimmed

Tack welded strips removed and arch plates shaped and welded into place

Rob grinding back the welds on the front arches

Fronts ground back ready for skim with filler

    Front and rear arches skimmed

Primed and getting ready for paint

    The famous Pot

Rob in the booth doing his thing

    And the finished article

Now that its back with me I've decided to raise the bar on it and give it a bit of a make over. The green is staying, the rims getting a full polish and a full interior over haul, original seats have gone and some Carrera GT seats are going in after a retrim, with a custom cage, painted floor and plenty of carbon fibre.

Hopefully it will all be done in the next 2 weeks in time for uk show DC10, progress so far.....

Im extremely happy with how its looking at the moment, its far from finished but by next weekend it should be pretty much in one piece, just need to re paint the floor and fix the boost and steering issues then tidy up the wiring and pipework.

Plenty more carbon and trimming i wanna do before edition and it really needs re paint to get it up to standard but i think that can wait till over the winter. :

Few terrible Iphone pics, interiors are really hard to photograph

Couldnt find the harnesses i wanted to decided to get these 3" OMP's and spruce em up a bit after MIVW

Mega car. The owner has the supercharged range rover sport, that blue mk1 in the 1st pic and a new scirocco i think. All proper on top.

I kinda liked the coloured centres the first time round too but i wanted to change it up a bit and couldnt bring my self to sell the RS so it had to be colour change or polish.

I went with the polish as a safe bet, here in the UK its difficult to get wheels chrome to a standard good enough to show, so we need to send em to the US. It takes months to ship em over get the work done and get them back and as usual we work to aggressive timescales so i just didnt have the time to go all out. Luckly i have a BBS specialist "Mike the Polisher" a few miles from my home so he gave them a ceramic polish and chomred the bolts ect. They will be off to the US for chroming over the winter

                              Mine are RS290's all round .....9.5j x 18, ET 18 and the best bit 5 x 112 PCD.

We dont see many 18" RS over in the UK, these are the only factory set over here at the moment, there is a guy who spent mega bucks having a set of 17's made into 18's however. The arches were literally built round the wheels so im kinda stuck running them
