  • Air Ride for a Jeep Wrangler

So as the title reads, I am an owner of a wrangler. I know that wranglers are supposed to be lifted and look glorious in the woods but that doesn't really interest me. I bought a wrangler because it's a convertible suv, pretty much everything comes off, and it's an all around fun car to own in the summer.

I was wondering if any of the members or companies on this forum know where I should look to find an air ride setup for my jeep. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks! Pawel

There is a supply/demand issue here. I can count the number of slammed jeeps I've seen on one hand, but fear not, you can do this and many air installs are custom anyway. Please post pictures and a build thread as you progress.

Yeah it is going to have to be a completely custom setup and there is most likely going to be a fair amount of cutting and welding involved as no one makes an air setup for the Wrangler.

Which chassis do you have? If you've got a YJ, then you might be able to do what the full size trucks do with leveling bags. This was the setup on my old truck, a Firestone bag sandwiched between the leaf spring and a custom bracket off the frame:

You might be able to remove all the leafs but the longest, using the leafs only for locating the axles, and then use the bags for height control.

If you've got a TJ or a JK, well, then that's different.

Relocate the leaf under the axle as well. I did this once on a Samurai. Removed all but 2 springs from the leaf pack and ran a 2" block setup. Def wasn't slammed though. Ended pinching a brake line against the oil pan with the front solid axle. Please do this build.
