  • E36 Touring on M5 Contours - pic heavy

If you read Performance BMW (where I work) you'll have seen my car in/on the latest issue, but I thought it was about time I posted up on here with some snaps of how it was looking before the winter hit. These are the unedited shots from our snapper Max Earey.

This is it with my editor's E30:

    Burnoot!

Hope you like it. I'm now in the process of selling the Contours

But I should have something new for this show season

          hmm . . there's no such thing as "M5-Contours" . . and they are for sure not the OEM M3-Contours . . they're maybe made for a 5 series . . but not by BMW . . must be reps . .

MrZog, you are correct. They were never produced by BMW, they were a reproduction of the E36 Contours in E34 offsets. I'm not sure who made them but mine are the original fakes if that makes sense - they're as genuine as E34 M5 Contours can get!

I'd been running with no spacers but the day before the shoot I put the wheels on after their refurb and couldn't find all of my standard wheel bolts, so had to run my fronts with a 4mm spacer and longer bolts. Final sizes were:

            Front: 8.5x17 ET9 with 195/45s
            Rear: 10x17 ET15 with 215/40s

Pretty good man! You really need to clean up your exhaust though unless you lower more so its not visible.

Hooking my next E24 up with a feature yeah?

Haha, yeah could have done with being lower all round really. And that exhaust is on my list of things to change this year, I **** it. Makes a good noise but looks shit.

Depends when you get an E24 again and what you do to it! such a shame about the last one

New E24 on the 4th, and plans aren't too dissimilar

                            this doesn't make sense at all . . IMHO . . . . . maybe I'm too much of a wheel-geek . . but in my book there's no such thing as "genuine" reps . .

love these Contours a lot, there is a similar red touring running 8.5s all round in my area. I just think it's way too high in those shots to have an overall good look. wheels are Mega though.
